In DeVries you get lots of great raider ships that appear from time to time. Hunting in Albion is a lot harder because PMC hates your guts and there are more patrols etc in that area. In the campaign there's a few easy places to get them. You can capture just about any ship (I could be wrong about that, but I've not failed yet!). You can take out targets with just about any gun, the Plasma Cannon is nice because it can do decent damage and takes a long time to heat up. By the time I had found a crew for the first ship I had ever captured, the ship was destroyed, probably by raiders that came in shortly after I left. I didn't get so lucky on my first capture. I then had to jump through the gate, sprint to a base that didn't hate me, hire ANYONE and sprint back to staff the ships. I had to get my marine commander and bounce from ship to ship to capture them. Then after I captured the SUL a Taranis came in and targetted the two capital ships. The SUL came in with it's swarm of URV's and fighters and I barely took them out, I got really lucky because it was paying more attention to my new Titurel than to me. I like to call this pure dumb luck! I had captured the Titurel just on the DeVries side of the Jump Gate. I once had a Titurel, a light SUL, and a Taranis all captured in one zone. There are lots of great missles, but those two are my favorite. SunStalkers are cheaper and are actually rather useful against the bigger targets like engines and the big shield generators. Tristar are spendy, but they do a lot of damage and are great for taking out whole batteries of turrets and field generators. My favorite for this are Tristar and Sunstalker missles. You can only buy Rookie marines, since they are veteran and/or elite, they no longer show on the recruiter.ģ) Make sure you're loaded up on missles. This is caused by your marines getting experience and no longer Rookies. Interestingly, if you check back at the recruiter, it will show less and less marines and yet you have no way of buying more. Once you have 50 you will not be able to purchase any more, unless some die off. His/her primary attributes are in bold, but consider his boarding experience and his combat skill. I finally have a 100% capture rate and currently own 3 Taranis, 1 Light SUL, 1 Heavy SUL, and 4 Titurel as well as the other ships you're given (construction ship etc).I am currently playing the campaign so all my suggestions are related to it. After asking about it and then testing things myself. Just recently I was among the masses that were unable to capture a ship no matter what I tried.
